4812 provides 12-Bay 12TB SATA II enterprise redundant disk
array solution for JBOD data storage applications such as clustering,
streaming video and heterogeneous storage, which require high throughput
and continuous uptime in a 2U Rackmount External Enclosure.
The
4812 12-Drive External RAID disk redundant array system provides
high data throughput with 4GB Fibre connection. The external enclosure
RAID system can be connected to a Fibre HBA on a Server or to a Fibre
Switch.
Perfect for sequential reads is RAID-50, and the
4812 can be setup for RAID50. You can also setup for RAID 5
or a RAID-5 and hot-spare(s). You can configure and change your RAID
Array(s) simply by using remote console via Serial Port or from a Web
Browser.
Included as standard, dual redundant, load-sharing power
supply modules and power management circuitry accommodate the dynamic
requirements of today's drives. Smart circuitry at each drive assures
data integrity by minimizing drive damage during insertion and removal.
This system further includes power supply-to-drive isolation, which
allows control over voltage and current fluctuations.
The
4812 External RAID Enclosure Systems' dual redundant power
supply modules and power management circuitry accommodate the dynamic
requirements of today's drives. This system further includes power supply-to-drive

IOSmart allows for the flexible configuration of logical
drives, logical volumes and logical partitions and ensures instant RAID
availability via background logical drive initialization. Fibre loops'
load balancing is provided within the subsystem. The firmware's embedded
intelligent algorithms, such as Adaptive Write Policy and Guaranteed
Latency I/O, improve sequential write performance and ensure the fast
and continuous flow of data.
The DrvSmart utility provides an easy way to store data while keeping
it safe. One of the main DrvSmart functions, Media Scan, retrieves data
from degraded or damaged hard drives and handles low quality drives
in both the degraded mode and during the rebuild process. Other DrvSmart
features include disk cloning, drive roaming, SMART, transparent resetting
of non-responsive hard drives, and RAID parity update tracking and recovery.
